Antenna Testing
First Impressions of the Super Antenna are POSITIVE.
- Deployment in less than 10 minutes.
- Small foot print shrunk with a section of farraday cloth.
- Adjustment is Simple and accuracy of calibration is predictable.
- An Auto Tuner or Rig Runner would make utiliziing a Super Antenna a "no brainer".
Some Notes from Today's excersize:
We had great success today using HF radios capable of talking all around the world to reach 0.63 miles from the Anthem Community Park to my house - LOL ;-)
40 has a high S9 noise Floor in Anthem. There is GREAT traffic and people listening in on 40 and 20 but noise may be an issue.
7.285 and 7.290 are 40 meter Calling Frequencies. We used 7.20 and 7.25.
14.285 and 14.336 are calling frequencies for 20 Meters. We used 14.25 & 14.23.
15 and 17 meters seem to work best with my NVIS set up
We used 21.230 and 18.145
Noise floor was a much lower S3 to S5 on my end.
NOTE - After last nights rain, all of Northern Maricopa County was WET WET WET - This will make a noticeable improvement on your ground conductivity. Normally AZ has some of the poorest soil for ground conductivity. Your mileage will vary come next weekend when this dries out.
